How KIPP clamping levers work

Clamping levers are used to reliably clamp and fixate workpieces and other components - e.g. on machines or fixtures. A major advantage of the KIPP clamping lever is the tool-free installation and the rapid adjustment possibility, which guarantees maximum flexibility .

The functioning principle is simple and intuitive: When the grip is lifted up, internal toothed rings situated between the grip and insert disengage. The grip can now be freely rotated without the insert rotating with it. When the grip is released, the toothed rings engage again and connect the grip firmly to the insert. When the handle is now rotated, the insert rotates with it so that machine parts, attachments and/or workpieces can be precisely clamped, positioned or released.

The types of clamping levers in the KIPP range are as varied as the application fields. All models are available as clamping levers with an internal thread and clamping levers with an external thread. They are also characterised by robust fabrication, a high load rating and easy handling - ideal for a wide range of applications in industry and trade.

What began in 1919 as a mechanical workshop producing kitchen appliances became a true milestone in our company’s history in 1952 with the development of the first KIPP clamping lever. Over the years, this innovative idea has grown into a range that now comprises around 27,500 clamping levers for a wide variety of requirements and applications.
