Lateral spring plungers are designed for positioning, clamping, holding and fastening of workpieces during a wide variety of work processes, including engraving, labelling, drilling, reaming, tapping, honing, grinding, welding, soldering, tooling, and assembling. The lateral spring plunger is designed to hold the work tightly against a locating pin or stop.
The plunger should be positioned so that the work piece deflects the pressure pin slightly off center, causing a holding force to be applied.
